Role:

I iterated on legacy AI systems from previous Assassin's Creed games to improve the perception of the NPCs, their coordination, and their overall realization.

I also designed new systems:

  • To offer roleplay opportunities
  • To emphasize the importance of social classes in Feudal Japan
  • To bring the stealth to the next level thanks to:
    • More plausible behaviors
    • Anti-exploit mechanics that counter repetitive actions the player may be tempted to abuse (eg: whistle)
    • A real-time illumination system inspired by the Splinter Cell series
